What You’re Fighting For

Ecstasy was conditioned to ignore the problems but they never go away
Fantasy was inspired as a way to cope through but it’s just a band-aid
I’ve seen a little notion of something not yet approved
I’ve got a little motion sickness but it’s improved
I’m still working on it once or twice or three times removed
And I just can’t believe

And I’m still stuck in disbelief that everything in front of me can’t solve itself
And I’m here waiting on some kind of magic to make this all of a sudden happen by itself
You taught me daydreaming that could never come true
You didn’t think somehow this at all affected you
It’s learned helplessness, maybe also known as “abuse”
And I just can’t believe you

Your innocence is gone and you don’t know what you’re fighting for
You left me in the dark and you don’t know what you’re fighting for
Your time is up my friend, yeah you don’t know what you’re fighting for
Innocence just proves that you don’t know what you’re fighting for
